Glitz and Glamour was the order of the day when MVG Lephoko Ministries honoured the Queen of Gospel in SA, Dr Rebecca Malope at a glamorous occassion held at Church on the Hill in Nelspruit.
This event, is the first of its kind for the ministry as it celebrates the work done by people of the province of the rising sun, Mpumalanga, who represent the province well globally and nationally.
Bishop MVG Lephoko announced that this event, is now and annual event and will showcase Mpumalanga's gems and celebrate them.
Dr Rebecca Malope hails from KaNyamazane near Nelspruit. She and her sister left Mpumalanga in pursuit of a better life and opportunities in the city of gold, Gauteng. She has sold more than 32 million copies of her albums and has represented not only the province but Mbombela as well.
She told a packed auditorium on Sunday, 6 April 2014 that she is very grateful for the honor and will keep representing the province and Mbombela well wherever she is.
Dr Malope received an Honorary certificate for Excellence and a token from Bishop MVG Lephoko, which is a beaded horn, representing his music production company, Phondongozi Productions, very significant for a renowned and celebrated singer like Dr Rebecca Malope.

THE MINISTRY BUILDS A HOUSE FOR 2 ORPHANS AT LUPHISI, NEAR NELSPRUIT
In February 2014, Bishop MVG Lephoko came up with an idea to honor SA's queen of Gospel Rebecca Malope for excellence. This idea also gave birth to the CSI project that MVG Lephoko Ministries and Dr Rebecca Malope undertook to build a house for 2 orphaned teenagers residing at Luphisi near Nelspruit.
The girls lost both their parents and later their grandmother who was their guardian after the loss of their parents.
The girls had to depend on their neighbours who were taking care of them. One of them who was living with another neighbour, who was also her teacher found herself orphaned again.
The house was built in 3 weeks and officially opened on 5 April 2014. We congratulate the girls, Thandeka and Lindokuhle for now they have a place they call home. The house boasts 2 bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen and a bathroom and is fully electrified.
Here are the snippets of the house unveiling on 5 April 2014
